I lost my friend
On a walk downtown
They strung her up
High off the ground

Her golden hair
Obscures her eyes
But still I hear
Her tortured cries

I lost her love
That sun divine
No longer thaws
My coldest times

I hear their jeers
She isn’t real
But tell me then
Why do I feel?
