In Which to Sow Seeds of Change
To make our message palatable
We choose flowers, vines, and petals
Fresh, fragrant, silken stand-ins
For blood, sinew, and cell
One does not question the flower’s choice to bloom
Once we’ve established some simple truths
We can swap out the metaphor
For the reality of human nature
But for now we pick our battles
With light hearts and curvy script
Humanity a notoriously challenging ground
For sowing seeds of change
